12. Aphrodite: Goddess of Love
Aphrodite, born from sea foam, ruled love and beauty. Her charm affected gods and mortals alike. In Rome, she was known as Venus.

11. Athena: Goddess of Wisdom
Athena sprang from Zeus’s head, fully armed. She represented wisdom, war strategy, and was Athens’ protector. The Parthenon is her temple.

Artemis, goddess of the wild, guarded nature and animals. She loved hunting and often appeared with a deer or bow and arrow.

Ares stood for war’s violence and chaos. Unlike Athena, he loved battle for battle’s sake. He wasn’t popular, except with the Spartans.

Apollo, twin of Artemis, was god of music, healing, and prophecy. The Oracle of Delphi spoke his divine messages to the people.

Demeter controlled crops and seasons. When her daughter Persephone was taken by Hades, her grief caused the first winter.

Dionysus brought wine, joy, and madness. His followers celebrated with wild rituals. He symbolized freedom and emotional release.

Hades ruled the dead but wasn’t evil. He kept to himself and cleverly bound Persephone to the underworld with enchanted fruit.

Hera, wife and sister of Zeus, was goddess of marriage. Protective but jealous, she often punished Zeus’s lovers and their children.
