Aggressive brushing damages enamel and irritates gums. Always use a soft-bristled toothbrush and apply gentle circular motions

Don’t miss flossing. It removes food particles and plaque from between teeth, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease

An old toothbrush with frayed bristles is less effective. Replace your toothbrush every 3–4 months or sooner if bristles are worn

Brushing right after a meal can cause enamel erosion. Wait at least 30 minutes before brushing to protect your teeth

Using a large amount of toothpaste creates unnecessary foam, while too little may not provide enough protection

Bacteria on the tongue can cause bad breath and plaque buildup. Clean your tongue daily with a tongue scraper or toothbrush

Rinsing with water immediately after brushing removes fluoride from your teeth. Instead, spit out the excess toothpaste, let the fluoride stay
