Skin problems or excessive friction can cause the hair between buttocks to be pushed inwards. This can lead to a pilonidal cyst formation

Develops above buttocks cleft

It usually develops in the cleft above the buttocks, and can ooze pus and blood

Common in males, young adults

This condition is more commonly  seen in males, and young adults  may frequently be affected

Sitting Jobs Are Risky

Signs of infection include pain

Signs of infection in this condition include pain on sitting or standing,  and swelling of the cyst

Possiblity of Redness and soreness

The skin around the area may  become red, and soreness may  be seen in some cases

Pus and blood discharge

Foul smelling pus may be observed draining from the pilonidal cyst. Sometimes, blood may also be  discharged from the site

Early Stage Antibiotics

In the early stages, the doctor may advise broad spectrum antibiotics, that can treat a large number of bacterial infections

Surgery for recurring cases
