Two powerful earthquake jolts Myanmar on Friday, with tremors felt as far as in Thailand’s Bangkok and Vietnam. It was measured 7.7 on the Richter scale and the epicenter was located 10 km below the surface, according to the USGS reports.

The Awa Bridge collapsed and multiple buildings were destroyed in Myanmar after the earthquake.
Additionally, an under construction building of the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) in Thailand’s Bangkok turned to dust following the quake.
Alarms got triggered in buildings and shocked residents evacuated down staircases of high-rise buildings and hotels in densely populated central Bangkok.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra held an urgent meeting after the powerful quake.
