It’s that time of the year again when celebrities gather to put their best fashion foot forward and showcase their elite sartorial sense at fashion’s biggest event, the Met Gala.

From Alia Bhatt to Isha Ambani, some selected Indians present on the Met Gala red carpet paid homage to the theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”.

Alia Bhatt stunned in a mint-green Sabyasachi saree studded with real gems and a 23-foot-long train. She was styled by Anaita Shroff Adjania and looked absolutely regal in Sabyasachi jewels.

Isha Ambani wore a custom Rahul Mishra creation that took 10,000 hours to complete. She opted for a floral saree gown intricately hand-embroidered at villages across India.

Indian entrepreneur Mona Patel made her Met Gala debut with an animated butterfly gown. She chose to wear custom Iris Van Herpen couture that featured kinetic butterflies on the sleeves.

Natasha Poonawala turned heads in a custom Margiela designed by John Galliano. She paired her ravishing creation with high platform heels by Christian Louboutins.

Ace designer Sabyasachi made history by becoming the first Indian designer to walk the Met Gala carpet this year. He combined modern and traditional, wore a pair of pants, a shirt and a cape with regal jewels.
