The 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China, kicked off in Zhuhai on November 12, 2024, featuring thrilling stunt flight performances.

The event highlighted China’s advancements in aviation, with impressive aerobatic displays by Chinese military aircraft, captivating crowds from across the country.

As China seeks to strengthen its aviation and defense capabilities in response to rising tensions in regions like Taiwan, the airshow underscored its focus on modernizing its military fleet.

Among the standout aircraft was the J-35A stealth fighter, making its public debut at the event, alongside the Bayi aerobatics team and a formation flight of four J-20 stealth jets.

The J-35A, a lighter and more agile counterpart to the J-20, mirrors the design of the U.S. F-35, reflecting China’s growing emphasis on next-generation stealth technology.

Also making its debut was the PLA Navy’s (PLAN) J-15T fighter. The latest in a line of carrier-based aircraft, the J-15T is specifically designed for catapult-assisted take-off operations.

Meanwhile, the J-20 jets executed a stunning diamond-shaped formation flight, highlighting their agility and precision. As China’s fifth-generation stealth fighters, they showcased impressive maneuvers.

This year’s airshow also introduced a dedicated drone zone, marking the increasing importance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in modern warfare, as evidenced by their use in conflict zones like Ukraine.

The event also featured Russia’s Su-57 stealth jet, known for its striking grey-and-white mosaic pattern, further adding to the global showcase of military aviation technology.
