The hot summer months require a lot of hydration on our part. Now, water is key but you can also add some zingy beverages to your diet to prevent dehydration.
Consuming anything with chia seeds in summer will keep you refreshed and also provide you with a good dose of antioxidants, minerals, fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Chia seeds also absorb water and can keep you hydrated for longer periods.
One tablespoon of chia seeds mixed with a cup of water, a dash of lemon juice and some honey will make for a great summer drink and will keep you hydrated.
You can also mix one tablespoon of chia seeds with a cup of coconut water and enjoy the refreshing coconut drink.
You can also make iced tea using chia seeds. Just mix a tablespoon with your favourite iced tea. Add lots of ice and enjoy!
Any fruit and yoghurt-based smoothie can be uplifted if you add chia seeds. Just blend them with your usual fruits and yoghurt for a healthy, tasty and cooling drink.
You can also add a zing to your basic fruit-infused water by adding a tablespoon of chia seeds. Just let it sit in the fridge for a few hours and relish the cooling beverage.
