ITAT grants relief to Tata Industries; deletes cap gains addition of Rs 1 lakh crore

The Mumbai Income Tax Appelate Tribunal has deleted capital gains addition of over Rs 100000 crores on Tata Industries. The capital gains arose from the sale of Idea Cellular shares by a Mauritius based subsidiary, to Birla TMT Holdings during calendar year 2007-2008, reports Arun Giri of Taxsutra.
