For the first time in over five centuries, travellers can now wander through one of Venice’s most closely guarded treasures—the ancient Convent Garden of the Redeemer. Located on the tranquil Giudecca Island, the historic garden has officially opened to the public following an extensive restoration led by the Venice Gardens Foundation.

The site, often dubbed one of Venice’s “secret gardens,” was inaccessible for 500 years. Thanks to a multi-year renovation project involving the revival of the convent’s church, greenhouse, and surrounding gardens, the landmark has been lovingly restored and is now welcoming visitors.
