YouTube updates its video player with a fresh look: Here’s what’s new
YouTube is getting a major makeover with an enhanced video player that now features updated controls and new icons, providing an enhanced visual appeal. This revamped player will be visible across the web, mobile app, and TV platforms starting October 13.
Updated video player With the updated video player design, YouTube has made the controls look cleaner and less distracting, so that the video takes centre stage. The new design features rounded on-screen buttons with a hint of translucency, similar to Apple's Liquid Glass design.

Updated functionalities YouTube is also improving its ‘double-tap to skip’ Seek feature, which allows users to jump ahead in a video to skip through content. It will now look smoother and feel more natural. Saving videos is also getting easier with a modernised Watch Later and playlist tabs.

New dynamic animations Furthermore, YouTube has added dynamic animations for likes on certain videos. For instance, tapping the like button on a music video will show an animated musical note. Similarly, liking a sports-based video will include a visual cue from the game.
