US President Donald Trump claims that TikTok has finally found a buyer, but he’s keeping the name a secret for now.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said, “We have a buyer for TikTok, by the way,” but didn’t share who it is. He added that the deal might still need approval from China’s President Xi Jinping.

When asked for more details, Trump refused to spill the beans, saying he’ll reveal the names in “two weeks.” This has become a bit of a running joke since he often uses “two weeks” as his go-to answer for announcements.

This development comes after months of back-and-forth over TikTok’s future in the U.S. Trump has been pushing for TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to sell the app or face a ban in the U.S.

Earlier this year, Trump floated the idea of creating a joint venture where the U.S. would own 50% of TikTok. He also hinted that his billionaire friends, like Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison or even Elon Musk, could be potential buyers. But Musk’s involvement now seems unlikely.
