Transfer data from Android to iPhone in these 10 simple steps

Get Move to iOS app

On your Android phone, download the Move to iOS application from the Google Play Store. The app can be accessed via the iOS Setup Assistant on iPhone after establishing the Wi-Fi connection and passcode and accepting the terms and conditions.

Move data from Android

Now, on your new iPhone, start the initial setup by tapping on the ‘Apps & Data’ screen. Then select Move Data from Android and click on Continue on our Android phone.

Enter the one-time code

Next, the iPhone will display a six-digit code. Enter this code on your Android device and proceed further.

Add Wi-Fi network

Your iPhone will create a temporary Wi-Fi network. Join this network on your Android phone as well when prompted, and wait for the transfer to begin.

Select the data

Let the process complete

The process can take more than 30 minutes or an hour depending on the size of the data you are transferring. Leave the phones alone during this time.

Via Google account

You can also use Google Drive cloud storage. To start this process, look for the Google tab and then tap on Backup. You can double-check what’s being copied by expanding the Backup details list.

Sync Google account

Now, add the same Google email ID you used on your Android smartphone and enter it into the Mail account section of your iPhone. The data sync should now begin automatically.

The files backed up on Google Drive can also be downloaded via the Google Drive app on the App Store. However, do note that a free Google account can only store 15GB of data.

Restart both devices

If you are still encountering errors, make sure to restart both the devices. Also, ensure that both smartphones are on the same Wi-Fi network and have at least 50% of battery.
