Reason 1: Microsoft

Microsoft cut 9,100 employees, the largest round in its ongoing layoffs this year. The cuts represent about 4% of its global workforce, linked to a renewed focus on AI. An executive comment suggesting workers use AI to cope drew criticism.

Reason 2: ByteDance

TikTok’s parent company laid off 65 workers in its U.S. e-commerce operations, mainly in Washington. The move is part of a revamp of its TikTok Shop unit to align with business priorities.

Reason 3: Intel

Intel confirmed over 5,000 job cuts across California, Oregon, Texas, and Arizona. The company is reallocating resources to AI and aims to become more agile.

Reason 4: Amazon

Amazon reduced its cloud computing team but hasn’t shared specific figures. The layoffs appear to be part of internal restructuring.

Reason 1: Lenovo

Lenovo laid off around 100 U.S. employees, or roughly 3% of its American workforce. The company cited a push to realign operations in response to sluggish PC market growth.
