iPhone call recording: Steps to use, things to know and more

Steps 1: Update your iPhone

Make sure that your iPhone is running iOS 18.1 update or later. To check go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Steps 2: Enable Call  recording

Go to Settings > Apps > Phone and toggle on the Call Recording option to enable the feature.

Step 3: Dial or answer a call

Call recording works during an ongoing call. So, either make or answer a call to start recording.

Step 4: Tap on waveform icon

During the call, look for a waveform icon in the top-left corner of the screen and tap on it to start recording.

Steps 6: Stop recording

Recording stops automatically with the call. You can also stop it manually with the red Stop Recording button.

Step 7: Find the recordings

The recording is automatically saved to the Notes app when the call ends or the recording is stopped.

Steps to find the recordings

Open Notes app and look for Call Recordings folder. Open it to find all the call recordings.

Delete call recordings

You can delete call recordings using the Notes app. Select and hit the Delete icon.
