Step 1: Open a browser

You can’t delete your account via the Instagram app. Use a web browser on your phone or computer.

Step 2: Log in to Instagram

Go to instagram.com and log in with your credentials.

Step 3: Tap your profile picture

Go to your profile by tapping your photo in the top-right (desktop) or bottom-right (mobile).

Step 4: Open the menu

Tap the three-line menu icon in the top-right corner.

Step 5: Go to Accounts Center

Select Accounts Center > Personal details.

Step 6: Tap Account ownership and control

Then tap Deactivation or deletion.

Step 7: Choose your account

Select the Instagram account you want to delete.

Step 8: Tap Delete account

Then tap Continue.

Step 9: Confirm and done

Follow the final steps to confirm deletion. Your account will be deleted after 30 days.

Tip: Download your data before deleting!

Go to Your activity > Download your information to save your posts and messages.
