Cricket Scotland partners with Karnataka's Nandini; unveils T20 World Cup jersey

The Nandini logo is present on the leading arm of the new Scotland men’s playing shirts at the tournament, which takes place in West Indies and USA and begins on June 2.

Cricket Scotland unveiled its jersey for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with Karnataka Milk Federation's Nandini as its official sponsor, on May 15.

The Nandini logo is present on the leading arm of the new Scotland men’s playing shirts for the tournament, which takes place in West Indies and USA and begins on June 2. In the logo, 'Nandini' is written in both Kannada and English.

Claire Drummond, Cricket Scotland Commercial Manager, in a statement, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Nandini ahead of what will be an exciting T20 World Cup campaign for our squad and supporters".

The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), which markets its dairy products under the Nandini brand, is sponsoring Scotland and Ireland teams for the T20 cricket World Cup. Moneycontrol first reported the development in its story 'Karnataka's Nandini to sponsor Scotland and Ireland cricket teams for T20 World Cup' on April 20. KMF sources said the sponsorship amount is around Rs 2.5 crore per team.

“It’s fantastic to have an established brand backing our men’s team as they head onto the global stage and compete against the best in the world, and we’re confident that this partnership demonstrates the global appeal of our national team and of Cricket Scotland" Drummond said.

“We look forward to working together with Nandini to further promote their brand as well as Scottish cricket. When our team lines up to play England, Namibia, Oman, and Australia at the World Cup, the Scotland colours will sit proudly alongside the Nandini logo" said Drummond.

MK Jagadish, KMF managing director, said: “We are very excited to partner with the Scotland men’s cricket team for their T20 World Cup campaign. Nandini as a brand stands for excellence and purity, and over the last forty years we have grown into a global brand.

“It is a matter of great pride for us to see Nandini on a world cup jersey and we wish the Scotland men’s team all the best for their T20 World Cup campaign" said Jagadish.

KMF has a presence in international markets, including the Middle East, Singapore, Bhutan, and Myanmar, with some frozen sweets also making their way to the US. KMF is also planning to launch Nandini Splash, a whey-based energy drink in the US during the tournament.

Indian dairy giant Amul is sponsoring teams from the USA, South Africa and Sri Lanka during the T20 World Cup.

T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 is scheduled to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States from June 1-29. There are a record 20 teams in this year's edition of the Twenty20 cricket championship.
