Beyond Bengaluru: Government to set up ready-to-use factory spaces for electronics, textile parks in north Karnataka

The chief minister also announced the launch of a textile park in Raichur. “In addition to this, a mega textile park is being set up on 1,000 acres near Honnakiranagi-Nadi Sinnur in Kalaburagi through a public-private partnership in collaboration with the central government,” Siddaramaiah said.

A sum of Rs 50 crore has been allocated for infrastructure, which would create one lakh direct jobs and two lakh indirect jobs, he said.

In Ballari, we aim to streamline unorganised jeans industry by establishing a jeans apparel park and a common facility Center, upgrade them to world-class standards.

The CM said they have launched Udyoga Aavishkaara scheme to create jobs. “About 25,000 children are receiving skill training under this scheme, with Rs 10 crore being spent through C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing )and the 'Industry Linkage Cell,’” he said.

Multi-skill development centres are being set up in Kalaburagi and Talakal in Koppal, with Rs 60 crore reserved for each centre to provide employment-based skills.

An advanced incubation and skill centre is being set up in Kalaburagi by the information technology and bio-technology departments, which will nurture skilled professionals and entrepreneurs to meet the growing demand in industries. Through K-Tech, it will support innovation and transform Kalaburagi into a centre of excellence and opportunity, he said.

The government also plans to establish the a Centre of Excellence focused on CNC (computerised numerical control) machines at KGTTI in Kalaburagi for Rs 16 crore.

The Kalaburagi Government (Men's) ITI Training Institute is being revitalised at Rs 20 crore.

The work on the science centre in Chittapur, Kalaburagi district would be completed this year. New science centres/planetariums would also be set up in Raichur and Yadgir to promote the growth of science and technology among students and the public,” he said.

The state government plans to develop Kalaburagi City into a smart city with an estimated investment of Rs 1,685 crore, which would improve the quality of life and also attract investment.

Under the Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana 2.0, Rs 200 crore each is provided for basic infrastructure development in the Kalaburagi and Ballari municipal corporations. Under the 'Kalyana Patha' scheme, the state government will build 1,150 km of roads in rural assembly constituencies for Rs 1,000 crore, the CM said.

"It’s been 10 years since the 371(J) Constitutional Amendment was implemented to aid Kalyana Karnataka. Between 2013-14 and 2024-25, Rs 19,778 crore was allocated to the Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB), with Rs 13,229 crore released and Rs 11,174 crore spent. Of 35,885 projects taken up, 27,264 are completed, and 8,621 are ongoing," he added.
