Before tossing your shirt into the washing machine, apply a small amount of liquid detergent directly to the collar. Gently rub it in with your fingers or a soft brush to break down body oils and dirt.
For tougher stains, use a stain remover spray or gel on the collar area. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before washing to help lift grime effectively.
Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with your detergent. It helps remove odours and enhances stain removal, especially on white or light-coloured collars.
Select a warm water setting (check care label first). Warm water is more effective at dissolving sweat and body oils that build up around the neck area.
Overloading restricts movement. Fewer clothes mean better friction and more effective collar cleaning.
