Salil Ankola, a former Indian fast bowler, was the first cricketer to step into the Bigg Boss house. A right-arm pacer, he featured in a solitary Test and 20 ODIs for India, with his final international outing coming against South Africa at Durban in 1997.

Vinod Kambli, remembered for his explosive batting and famous partnerships with Sachin Tendulkar, made his Bigg Boss entry in Season 3 (2009) as a wild card participant. Kambli represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs, boasting a stellar Test average of 54.20.
