Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli recently sparked concerns about his health after he shared a stage with childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar. The two along with other cricket icons had came together at a memorial event to honour their late coach, Ramakant Achrekar, at the iconic Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Kambli appered frail and clearly didn't look at his best while talking.
A couple of weeks later the ex-cricketer saw his health deteoriate even further and was admitted at the Akruti Hospital in Mumbai. While Kambli was responding well to the treatment a new video has gone viral on social media sparking joy among his fans.
In the viral video, Kambli can be seen dancing and singing one of Bollywood's most iconic number "Chak De India" with a lady. Here is the video:
As per reports, Kambli, 52, is suffering from urinary infection and muscle cramps. In addition a series of medical examinations have revealed clots in his brain.
Earlier, while while speaking to mediaperson Kambli expressed his gratitude towards the doctor and the medical staff at the hospital. "It is because the doctor here that I am alive... All I would say is that I will do whatever sir (referring to the doctor) asks me to. People will see the inspiration that I'll give them," the 52-year-old told PTI.
Kambli has been battling health issues for a while now. A footage had gone viral in August, where Kambli was seen facing difficulty to walk steadily and required assist from others. The video showed Kambli in a rather disoriented state, having trouble to maintain his balance.
Kambli has represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs between 1993-2000. He was also the part of India's squad in the 1996 World Cup. If we look at his career, Kambli mustered 3561 runs in both formats combined and has six international tons and 17 half-centuries.
