Three Indian cricket team players visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Saturday, a day before the second ODI against England at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra during their early morning visit.
The players, accompanied by tight security, were escorted by police to ensure a smooth darshan of the deities. Speaking about the experience, Washington Sundar said, "The darshan was very good."
Later in the day, the Indian team is scheduled to hold a net practice session at Barabati Stadium. Authorities have implemented extensive security measures for the players' movement between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh confirmed that security arrangements include the deployment of 50 platoons of forces. A traffic advisory has also been issued to facilitate the smooth movement of both players and the general public.
