Former India cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan recently visited Bageshwar Dham, where he met Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Baba. Interestingly, Dhawan posted a video on social media of him and Baba playing cricket together having a good time. The legendary cricket shared a couple of videos in which he can be seen enjoying a cricket session with Dhirendra Shastri. In the first clip, Dhawan is seen batting, while in the second, Baba can be seen batting on the cricketer's bowling.

"It was truly inspiring to meet Shri Dhirendra Shastri Ji," Dhawan posted on his Instagram.

Shikhar Dhawan admired Bageshwar Baba’s calm and positive demeanor, saying it left a lasting impression on him.

Dhawan praised Bageshwar Baba for his cheerful nature, joking that his laughter was truly contagious.

Reflecting on their cricket match together, Dhawan described the experience as "unforgettable."

His post about meeting Bageshwar Baba has since gone viral on social media, amassing more than 12,00,000 likes.

Shikhar Dhawan officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on August 24, 2024. The star Indian opener featured in 269 international matches, amassing 10,867 runs at an impressive average of 40.39, including 24 centuries and 55 half-centuries. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhawan played 222 matches, scoring 6,768 runs with two centuries and 51 fifties, maintaining an average of 35.07. His final appearance for India came in an ODI against Bangladesh on December 10, 2022, in Chattogram.

The 38-year-old said he left the scene as a content man, having represented the national team in all three formats since making his international debut in 2010 in an ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam.
