Yashasvi Jaiswal has proven his credentials as a Test opener and the recent knock of 175(258) in the second Test against West Indies is a testimony of that. Jaiswal already has a couple of double hundreds under his name and he could have added a third one to his tally if not for a mix-up with skipper Shubman Gill on Day 2 of the match.

Reflecting on Jaiswal's knock and his overall trajectory in red-ball cricket, former India batter Mohammad Kaif has made a massive prediction regarding the 23-year-old.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal is a batsman with the patience to score big hundreds and set new marks. In his first 26 matches, his numbers are as good as Sachin and Virat. Scoring at a high strike rate, his hundreds mostly put India on path to victory. Sehwag ka 300 wala record, Jaiswal hi todega,” he wrote on X.

Sehwag was the first Indian to hammer 300 runs in Test, which was against Pakistan in Multan in 2004. He reached the landmark once again, four years later in Chennai against South Africa. Barring him only Karun Nair has managed to achieve the feat among Indians.

Jaiswal has so far amassed 2245 runs in 47 Test innings and boasts an impressive average of 49.89. Apart from the double tons, the southpaw has slammed seven hundreds and twelve half-centuries in those 47 innings.
