The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy had another heated moment as Joe Root and Prasidh Krishna got involved in an exchange of words during the 22nd over of the fifth and final Test of the India-England series. The incident took place on Day 2 (Friday, August 1) at the Kennington Oval during the England innings.
It is unclear at the moment what Krishna said to the English batter, but one thing is clear: the host team’s player did not like it at all. Root, usually known for his calm demeanour, did not back off, as the exchange added another layer to the dramatic series.

Even the commentators on air were shocked by Root's reaction.
“It's highly unusual to see Joe Root as animated as he was in that moment. Quite a cheery soul, but not on that occasion,” said former England captain Michael Atherton on air.
The umpires and players had to calm the scene. Later on, Root was seen having a conversation with umpire Ahsan Raza. Former India coach Ravi Shastri on air that time said Root's aggression sends a clear message about his intentions.
“Both teams fired up. What it would really do is send a clear message to India that there would be a clear intent from Joe Root. He will be looking to score and looking to be more positive,” said Shastri.
“There is a sense of purpose, even when he walked back to his guard. You can see that in his eyes,” he added.
