Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah expressed immense gratitude and joy following the team's triumphant return after winning the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean. On Monday, Bumrah shared his feelings on social media, stating, "I am so thankful for the last few days. I've been living a dream and it has filled me with happiness and gratitude."

His message was accompanied by a video showcasing the exuberant reception the team received, which included a celebratory breakfast with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a victory parade in Mumbai attended by thousands of fans.

Bumrah, aged 30, played a pivotal role in India's success, capturing 15 wickets in the tournament, which concluded on 29th June in Barbados. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Tournament accolade as India secured their second T20 World Cup title, ending a 17-year wait for the trophy in the shortest format of the game.

The 42-second video posted by Bumrah featured audio from Virat Kohli’s speech during the felicitation ceremony after the victory parade. Kohli, a champion batsman who retired from T20 Internationals at the end of the World Cup, lauded Bumrah’s significant contributions. Kohli said, "What I would like everyone to do is to applaud a guy who brought us back into games again, and again, and again. It was phenomenal. He is a once in a generation bowler. I am so glad he plays for us."

Bumrah, alongside all-rounder Hardik Pandya, played a crucial role in India's final match against South Africa. The duo was brought in for their second spell at a critical juncture when South Africa needed 30 runs off 30 balls. Their combined efforts turned the game around, leading to South Africa falling short by seven runs.

Upon returning to his home in Ahmedabad, Bumrah was welcomed with flower petals, marking a celebratory homecoming for the star bowler. This overwhelming support and recognition reflect Bumrah's integral role in India’s cricketing achievements and his status as a key figure in the team's success.
