Sharadiya Navratri 2025: Shardiya Navratri concludes with Durga Visarjan and Navratri Parana, rituals that mark the end of nine days of fasting and devotion. As per the Hindu Panchang, Durga Visarjan 2025 will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, during the auspicious Visarjan Muhurat from 06:10 AM to 08:35 AM. The day also coincides with Vijayadashami which symbolise the triumph of good over evil. Devotees will also perform Ashwina Navratri Parana (breaking of the Navratri fast) after the Visarjan ceremony.

Ashwina Navratri Parana Date and Time 

Note: Navratri Parana refers to the ritual of breaking the nine-day-long Navratri fast. Scriptures give two views on Parana timing—some advice completing it within Navami Tithi, while others recommend performing it only after Navami Tithi ends, and Dashami Tithi begins.

Navratri Parana Traditions

In many households, Kanya Puja (Kumari Puja) is performed on Maha Ashtami or Maha Navami, after which devotees break their fast. Some traditions observe fasting only on the first and last days of Navratri, while others follow the complete nine days. Families who perform Navami Homa (Chandi Havan) often wait until the ritual and Navami Tithi are completed before breaking the fast.

The popular guideline from Nirnaya-Sindhu states that Navratri Parana should be done on Dashami Tithi after Navami Tithi ends, ensuring nine full nights of fasting.

Durga Visarjan 2025: Date and Muhurat Time 

Note: Durga Visarjan is traditionally performed either in Pratahkal (morning) or Aparahna (afternoon) while Dashami Tithi prevails. If Shravana Nakshatra coincides with Dashami in Aparahna, it is given greater preference.
