Baishakh 2025 Begins: Check list of Festivals in Vaishakh, Akshaya Tritiya, Buddha Purnima, and other Auspicious Dates

The sacred month of Vaishakh (Baishakh), the second month in the Hindu lunar calendar, has begun today, 13 April 2025, and will conclude on 12 May 2025. This month holds special spiritual significance, particularly for devotees of Lord Vishnu. Worshipping Vishnu during this time is believed to relieve pain and suffering and bring prosperity and spiritual merit that extends beyond this lifetime.

One of the most important days this month is Vaishakh Purnima, when the Moon aligns with the Vishakha Nakshatra. The month gets its name from this lunar alignment. It is also believed that the Treta Yuga, the second of the four Yugas (ages), began during Vaishakh.

Significance of Vaishakh Month

Vaishakh is a time for devotion, self-discipline, and charity. Donations and acts of kindness during this month are considered especially rewarding. Special pujas are performed to honour Lord Vishnu and his divine incarnations, such as Parashurama, Narasimha, Hayagriva, Nara-Narayana, and Lord Buddha.
