Jammu, June 30: Offline registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2025 began today in Jammu at multiple special centres set up by the administration. This offline registration drive caters to devotees who could not register through the online mode. The annual pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine is scheduled to commence on July 3 and will be accessible via both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
Enthusiasm among devotees was visible from day one. One pilgrim shared, “There’s no fear. The arrangements are excellent, and the administration is fully supportive.” Another added, “Terror threats won’t stop our faith. I encourage people from across the country to come to J&K and show our strength through devotion.”
To ensure the security of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, the CRPF has rolled out a multi-layered plan along the critical Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). This key route will see heightened patrolling, the deployment of K-9 dog squads, and intensive surveillance—especially across sensitive zones like the Udhampur sector.
The first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off from the Jammu base camp on July 2, one day prior to the official start of the Yatra. The CRPF, Indian Army, J&K Police, and the State Disaster Response Force (JKSDRF) have already conducted a joint mock landslide drill at Samroli near Toldi Nallah on NH-44 to ensure emergency preparedness in case of natural disasters during the Yatra.
The drill tested the coordination among agencies in managing landslides, evacuating stranded vehicles, and providing immediate medical aid to pilgrims. The exercise underscores the commitment of the security forces and administration to ensure a smooth and safe Yatra.
With robust security in place and offline registration now open, thousands of pilgrims are expected to participate in the spiritually significant Amarnath Yatra 2025.
