Massive cheating in Pennsylvania, says Donald Trump amid US presidential election

We have been inviting complaints and allegations of improprieties all day. If Donald J Trump has any facts to support his wild claims, we want them now. Right now. We are not holding our breath, says District Attorney.

Donald Trump provided no evidence to support his claim.

Amid US presidential elections, Republican candidate Donald Trump  raised doubts about the electoral process, particularly targeting Pennsylvania, a crucial battleground state.

In a message on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, "A lot of talk of massive cheating in Philadelphia. Law enforcement coming!"

Officials swiftly rejected his claims.  Seth Bluestein, Philadelphia’s city commissioner, called Trump's claims "unfounded" and reaffirming that the city’s elections are being conducted fairly.

Earlier too Trump has cast doubt on the electoral process. Following his loss to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, Trump refused to concede, leading to the violent January 6 attack on the US Capitol by his supporters. Trump’s also filed multiple lawsuits in several states, including Pennsylvania, alleging election fraud.

"We are closely monitoring for irregularities to ensure that Philadelphians can vote safely and securely," Bluestein told EuroNews.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner also dismissed Trump’s allegations. Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), he noted, "There is no factual basis in these allegations."

Krasner added, "We have been inviting complaints and allegations of improprieties all day. If Donald J Trump has any facts to support his wild claims, we want them now. Right now. We are not holding our breath."

Voting has concluded and the tabulation is underway in Pennsylvania, the most crucial among the seven battleground states in the US presidential elections. Pennsylvania accounts for 19 of the 270 electoral college votes a candidate needs to win the elections, making it the biggest prize among the battleground states that are expected to decide the poll outcome. According to the exit poll, Harris garnered 55% of the women’s vote in Pennsylvania, while Trump captured 43%.
