US Deploys THAAD System To Israel Amid Rising Tensions With Iran And Lebanon

The U.S. is deploying its THAAD anti-missile system to Israel to bolster defenses after an Iranian missile attack. THAAD intercepts ballistic missiles at high altitudes using kinetic energy and can engage missiles both inside and outside the atmosphere. The system, operated by 100 U.S. troops, integrates with other U.S. defenses like Aegis and Patriot systems. Amid ongoing conflict, Israel assured the U.S. it won’t strike Iranian nuclear or oil sites. Iran has warned of retaliation if Israeli attacks persist, escalating tensions in the region.
