PM Modi takes holy dip at Triveni Sangam, offers prayers at Maha Kumbh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on February 5, 2025, to take a holy dip at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The event, which began on January 13, 2025, and will continue until February 26, is the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering, drawing devotees from around the world. This year's Maha Kumbh, held after 12 years, has already attracted over 38 crore pilgrims. Modi, committed to promoting India's spiritual heritage, has focused on enhancing infrastructure at pilgrimage sites. The festival also saw visits from several politicians, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, as well as high-profile international figures like Laurene Powell Jobs, Chris Martin, and Dakota Johnson. Modi offered prayers at the Sangam, chanting mantras while holding Rudraksha beads.
