A ground staff member at Indonesia’s Jakarta airport suffered a sudden fall after two other workers removed the stepladder as he was stepping outside the TransNusa Airbus A320 as the crew prepared to take off. A video of the same was shared on X and has triggered concerned reactions from social media users.

In the now-viral video shared by CEO of Avialaz Consultants Sanjay Lazar on X, the airline worker was seen speaking with someone inside the aircraft. He was unaware that the mobile stairs have been removed and walked outside the plane, only to fall on the tarmac.

The papers that were in his hand flew in the air as people present on the runway rushed to help him. The incident was captured on camera by another person who was present at the scene. The worker received medical treatment immediately and did not sustain life threatening injuries, Daily Mail quoted a source of AirLive.Net.

The footage swiftly gained traction online and sparked a wave of concern among social media users. Some people also slammed the airline for not following basic rules and regulations.

"Looks so painful. Could have been much worse," one user wrote. Another user commented, "How did they remove the stepladder without (aircraft) door close? Isn't that basic SOP? This is the worst nightmare for any ground staff/crew."

"Hope he gets all support from the company," a third user remarked. "Ladder removed without notice? Hope he’s safe! Prayers," a fourth user added.

A user also claimed that he received information regarding the condition of the man and wrote that he was doing fine. "I received information regarding his condition. He got treatment immediately and gratefully no serious injury on him."

As per the report in Daily Mail, the worker fell a few meters from the plane. An investigation has been launched into the incident and Jakarta airport  have 'assured measures' to prevent future accidents, Aviation24.be reported.
