Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi tried an Uber Shuttle bus in Bengaluru during the first day of his India trip. The CEO of Uber began his trip on February 22, when he met Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani for a fireside chat in Bengaluru. He went on to try the Uber Shuttle service with members of the Uber India team.
In his fireside chat with Nilekani, Khosrowshahi spoke about the difficulties of gaining a foothold in the Indian market. “India is one of the toughest markets out there; they are so demanding and do not pay for anything. If we can succeed here, we can succeed anywhere else,” he told the Infosys co-founder.
He later shared pictures from his Uber Shuttle ride on the microblogging platform X. “Excited to check out the Uber Shuttle bus at our Bangalore office along with the hugely talented team behind it. Cars, bikes, autos and buses - Uber in India is a one-stop mobility hub,” wrote Khosrowshahi.

Launched in 2021 to offer a safe, reliable and comfortable commute option to office-goers, Uber Shuttle is currently available in a few cities including Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Uber is exploring offerings such as intercity bus and metro rail ticket bookings in India as part of a partnership with the government-backed the Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC). The partnership could allow Uber to win more users, compete better with local rivals and help boost public transport use in the world's most populous country.
