SPIL, (Students for the Promotion of International Law), a student-based, college organization from Government Law College, Mumbai in an attempt to encourage legal research and learning within the sphere of International Law, calls for papers from across the spectrum of the student and legal fraternity, professors, practitioners and scholars. Each year the Call for Papers examines an aspect of International Law and provides a platform for an evaluation of the various aspects that comprise the theme. This process facilitates the utilization of legal research methodologies, develops an independent thought process and broadens perspectives.

The Theme for year 2012-2013 was 'Contemporary Issues in International Arbitration and Mediation'.

This year's winner Abhilaksh Gaind is a 3rd year student, pursuing BA LLB course at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences(WBNUJS), Kolkata.

Attached is his winning piece, KOMPETENZ-KOMPETENZ, A PERFECT PRINCIPLE ?
