A Swiggy delivery agent went above and beyond his duties to assist a customer in need in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Nandini Tank recounted how she was struck by sharp cramps, rendering her unable to walk to the medical store. Faced with this predicament, she turned to the food delivery app, Swiggy, as a lifeline.
Ordering food, Tank took a chance and asked the delivery agent if he could also purchase medicine for her. To her relief, the delivery agent readily agreed to her request.
Tank shared a photograph of her medicine along with the Swiggy bill, thanking the delivery agent for his help in an X post.
Expressing her gratitude, Tank ensured she tipped the delivery agent, acknowledging his act of kindness. Her tweet quickly garnered attention, resonating with many who appreciated the selflessness displayed by the delivery personnel.
“I had sharp cramps and couldn’t walk to the medical store, so ordered food on Swiggy and asked the delivery agent if he could buy me a medicine. He was really kind enough to get me one. I made sure to tip him and thank him for his kindness,” Tank wrote.
She further revealed the limitations she encountered in accessing online delivery services for medicines in Ranchi. Alternatives such as Dunzo are unavailable in Ranchi and Swiggy Genie was not available at that moment. This prompted her to ask for help from the delivery agent.
Commenters heaped praises on the Swiggy delivery agent.
“There are many such kind hearted delivery agents. I have had some experiences where they had gone beyond their routine duty to help out. God bless them!” one wrote.
“Very kind and understanding of the Swiggy guy... this is customer service,” wrote another.
Apart from comments praising the delivery agent, concerned users also asked the X user to check the medicine – Meftal – pointing to a government advisory that revealed side effects of the analgesic.
One user questioned: “This is a prescription drug. How come the delivery guy bought it without a prescription?”
The woman responded to the comments and said: “Thank you for the suggestions. It was prescribed by my doctor after I complained of sharp pain and was unable to do my chores.”
The tweet has over 1.4 lakh views and 2,000 likes on X so far.
