Luca Marini of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team set the quickest time on the final lap of the second free practice session at the IndianOil MotoGP Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida on September 22.
Luca Marini, set a record time of 1 minute 44.7820 seconds, narrowly beating Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac Racing. Martin was the quickest rider during the session, but he finished second, trailing Marini by only 0.008 seconds.
Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia Racing in the second session clocked 1 minute 44.8330 seconds. Brad Binder, who rides for Red Bull KTM and holds the MotoGP high-speed record, failed to finish in the top 10 eue to a yellow flag.
Defending champion Francesco Bagnaia was placed seventh after he clocked 1 minute, 45.2800 seconds.
In the first free practise session, Mooney VR46 Racing Team's Marco Bezzecchi set the fastest time of 1 minute 45.9900 seconds. And, Marc Marquez, the eight-time world champion, rode the Repsol Honda to second place with 1 minute, 46.1290 seconds.
The top ten fatest times recorded in the allocated 60 minutes during practice session on September 22 advance directly into Qualifying 2, while the top two riders from Qualifying 1 get a chance in Qualifying 2 to try their hands at claiming the pole position.
MotoGP kicked off at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, and 11 different racing teams are taking part. The Grand Prix will end with the final race on September 24.
On September 23, the schedule includes a practice session, qualifying rounds, and a 12-lap MotoGP Tissot Sprint. The main races for all three categories, namely Moto-3, Moto-2, and MotoGP, will be held on September 24.
