Initial jubilation gave way to a heated debate when she announced that she would work right through her pregnancy. One camp said it is her individual choice while the other believed because there are so few women leaders, anything they do sets a precedent.

Was Mayer making other pregnant working women look bad? The issue died a natural death but resurfaced a few weeks back when Mayer was back in the news for banning work from home for all Yahoo employees.
