Sidhu Moosewala's mother is pregnant and will be delivering the baby in March, the late Punjabi singer's family has confirmed. Moosewala, whose real name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was shot dead by assailants on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa district. He was popular among the youth and was known to compose and produce his songs. Moosewala was also regarded as one of the wealthiest Punjabi singers.

Speaking to Indian Express, Moosewala's family confirmed his mother Charan Kaur's pregnancy. According to a Tribune report, his mother is 58 and his father Balkaur Singh is 60. The couple used IVF to get pregnant, the publication reported, adding that Charan Kaur has not been stepping out of the house for the last three to four months because of the pregnancy.

As the news spread, it triggered the meme factory in social media. Many users also pointed out the similarities between the situation and the Bollywood film Badhaai Ho in which a 25-year-old man -- played by actor Ayushmann Khurrana -- is shocked to discover that his mother is pregnant.

Around the same time that Sidhu Moosewala's family confirmed the pregnancy, a murder attempt was made on his former manager and friend Bunty Bains. The music producer --  who has been credited with shaping the careers of several prominent Punjabi singers including Moosewala -- was shot at when he was in a dhaba in Mohali. Bains escaped unhurt.

The attack comes two years after Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by assailants on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa district in Punjab a day after the state government pruned his security cover. The assailants had sprayed bullets on the 28-year-old after waylaying his vehicle. At least three weapons were used and thirty empty cases were found at the site. According to the autopsy report, Moosewala probably died "within 15 minutes" of receiving the injury.
