Mother-in-law wants to wear bride's wedding dress to renew her vows: 'I was shocked'

The bride added the reason her mother-in-law asked her instead of renting or thrifting a dress is because she doesn't think clothing should be rented out and she'd feel uncomfortable wearing a stranger's dress.

A 24-year-old woman bride in the UK was recently left in a tight spot when she received a surprising request from her mother-in-law -- her wedding dress.

Describing the incident on Reddit, the bride said that soon after her wedding to Marcus (25), his mother told her that she and her husband were inspired by them to renew their marriage vows.

The Reddit user said she was “happy for them and thought it was a great idea”. Marcus's parents were " going to get their vows renewed a month from now, they both said that my wedding inspired this, my parents did the same but on a smaller scale when I was 19.”

“Rose came to me with the request that she wear my wedding dress since she was forced to sell hers when Marcus was a kid, and didn't want to spend the money on a brand new wedding dress. I was shocked and just told her that I would think about it.”
