An IndiGo passenger was left shocked after she found that her seat did not have a cushion to sit on while flying from Pune to Nagpur in the early hours of Sunday morning, a Times of India report said.

Nagpur resident Sagarika Patnaik was flying from Pune to her home town on an Indigo flight 6E-679 and found that her seat did not have a cushion and informed the flight crew about the same.

The woman's husband-Subrat Patnaik-shared the seat's photo on X (formerly Twitter) and criticised the airline for not being vigilant and taking necessary action to ensure passengers had a comfortable journey.

He later said that his wife informed the crew about not having a cushion on her seat and she was forced to stand on the aisle when passenger boarding was on. "She once again told the cabin crew. Boarding was still going on and she was forced to stand in the aisle, which was creating issues for other flyers. Finally, a crew member brought another cushion from a spare seat and placed it. How could such a seat cushion just vanish? This is certainly not expected from an airline brand like IndiGo," Patnaik said.

Later, IndiGo replied to Patnaik's post and said that in some instances, the seat cushion gets separated from the velcro and added that with the crew's help, the seat could be restored back to its normal condition.

Patnaik replied to IndiGo, asking whether the crew had not noticed the missing cushion during their checks before boarding. "Hi, appreciate your response. But surprise that how this missed by ground staff as well as the crew to check the cleaning status before boarding? This is affecting the image of a great brand like Indigo," he wrote.2

Replying to his latest comment, IndiGo expressed disappointment and said they had noted his feedback and would look to offer improved services in future.
