Wedding cards are an essential part of any marriage as it gives those attending the event background details of both the bride and the groom.
However, in some cases, wedding cards can contain certain information that can startle those reading the details. In a X (formerly Twitter) post, a user shared how the bride and groom had mentioned the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) they had graduated from on their wedding card.
From the card, it could be seen that the groom had studied at IIT Bombay and the bride had studied at IIT Delhi.
The post with the photo saw several retweets and comments, with a few users left in splits after seeing the IIT credentials. The users shared their own experiences of strange details being written on cards and one user said he was at this wedding and gave details of what he saw at the ceremony.
"I was there, It was also mentioned on the kaju katli, wedding cake and even the chaat. Guests were instructed to mention it on the shagun ka lifafa as well," the user, who was at this wedding, wrote.
"It is nothing , I have seen an invitation card there was one extra page added for property details of both family's," another user wrote.
"People who marry based on their achievements rather than meeting their soul will always be hungry for outside validation in their marriage life. A single stripe of ego will disbalance their relationship," a third user wrote.
This is not the first instance when those reading wedding cards were left shocked by what was printed on them.
In December 2022, a photo of a wedding card surfaced online which was inspired by the stock markets and had words such as "merger" written on the card. The "phera" ceremony was described as "listing ceremony" on the card.
