Bengaluru opened its account for the 2023 ODI World Cup on Friday when Pakistan took on Australia at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. But you would be forgiven to think that there was a match between India and Australia at the venue as jerseys of both teams were on high demand outside the venue, before the start of the game.
The jerseys were selling in the range of Rs 250-350 and the sellers outside the stadium said the demand for the Men in Blue's kit was very high, even for non-India match day.
"India main India ka he bikega na?" (if you are in India, then only India jersey would sell, no?) a jersey seller told this reporter, when asked about the sales.
The jersey most popular among fans was the one which had Virat Kohli written at the back. Among Australians, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell's jersey found more buyers than others owing to his association with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

"I had 10 jerseys in the morning. Each jersey is Rs 400.Nine of them have been sold so far," the woman says.
Interestingly, while the IPL may have been done and dusted five months ago jersey sellers opted to put shirts of arch-rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings also on sale.
