Flipkart listing confirms Asus Zenfone 6 India launch coming soon

Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, the Zenfone 6 is an absolute beast.

Asus recently unveiled the Zenfone 6 to the world as the first smartphone with a flipping camera. Only days after Asus’ big reveal, a page dedicated to the Zenfone 6 has appeared on Indian e-commerce website Flipkart.

With Asus’ latest flagship comes a new leap in innovation in the form of a flippable rear camera. The predecessor to the Zenfone 5 doesn’t have a front camera; instead, the primary dual camera on the back of the phone flips forward.

Another excellent fact about this flip camera is that it can be used in any angle to while taking pictures. Lastly, there’s the obvious benefit of getting all the features of the primary camera – 4K portrait video, laser focus, ultra-wide photos – on the front as well.

While the Zenfone 6’s innovative camera system is an excellent addition to the phone, there’s more to this handset than just a flipping camera. Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the Zenfone 6 is an absolute beast. Asus has also confirmed that the latest Zenfone would receive an Android Q update before Q2 ends.

The one area where the Zenfone 6 fails to deliver is in ‘display’. While the handset boasts a stunning design with slim bezels on the screen and no notch, Asus has opted for an LCD panel over the traditional OLED panels often used for flagship phones. But if this isn’t a deal breaker for you, then the Zenfone 6 is definitely worth considering.

Asus released the Zenfone 6 in Spain last week, pricing the device at EUR 499 (Approx. Rs 39,000) for the entry-level model. Considering smartphone prices in Europe aren’t very different from India, it is likely Asus won’t tinker around with pricing structure. The Zenfone 6’s two other variants include a 6GB RAM and 256GB (Approx. Rs. 44,800) storage version as well as an 8GB RAM and 256GB (Approx. Rs. 47,000) storage model.

With the current pricing, the Zenfone 6 seems to have found itself in a particularly sweet spot between the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.
