Musician Elton John is the latest member to join the ‘EGOT’ club after his win at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. The music icon bagged his first Emmy for his Disney+ special, “Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium”, which took the award for best variety special (live).

Now, the 76-year-old musician has it all the major American art awards. The Emmy win joins his Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards, making him the newest member of the ‘EGOT’ club. The British singer-songwriter is the 19th person to sweep an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

“I am incredibly humbled to be joining the unbelievably talented group of EGOT winners tonight,” John said in a statement. “The journey to this moment has been filled with passion, dedication, and the unwavering support of my fans all around the world. Tonight is a testament to the power of the arts and the joy that it brings to all our lives. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my career, I am incredibly grateful.”

John was not able to attend the award ceremony as he was home due to a knee injury, Variety reported.
