Emirates calls teen's father at 4 am after she misses flight: 'Communication delivery was so effective'

The man added that the communication delivery from Emirates was so effective that he never had to worry about his 15-year-old daughter. (Representational Image).

A man recently praised Emirates and took to social media to share the way they handled a situation in which his 15-year-old daughter had missed a connecting flight, while flying from Morocco to Chennai.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), the man narrated the experience of his daughter- flying alone for the first time-having missed her connecting flight from Dubai and how he received a call at 4 am from a "most calm & reassuring executive", after which he was not concerned about his daughter's safety.

This is an appreciation post for @emirates.

Yesterday, daughter M (15) flew unaccompanied from Casablanca to Chennai - her first solo international journey. While she was excited to travel alone, we were a bit on the edge given the chaos EK went through in the past week... 1/4

As expected, flight ops remain affected and M missed her 2 am connection at DXB.

But EK were just brilliant in the handling.

On arrival, M was met in the aircraft, informed of the changes and escorted to a transit hotel room to rest & recover before the next flight... 2/4

At the same time, I was woken up around 4am by call from a most calm & reassuring EK executive, informing me of the missed connection & steps taken.

The communication delivery was so effective that not for a moment thereafter was I concerned about the situation M was in...3/4

Given how the entire @emirates operations at DXB were thrown off gear just a few days back, this was excellent recovery and back to business-as-usual as quick as possible.

This is what customer focus and service excellence is all about.
