Thunderstorm, hail likely in next 2 days: HP MeT

A western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over eastern parts of Iran and adjoining Afghanistan now lies over western parts of Afghanistan.

The local MeT office said thunderstorm accompanied by squall/hail may hit isolated places in Himachal Pradesh over the next two days.

A western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over eastern parts of Iran and adjoining Afghanistan now lies over western parts of Afghanistan.

Under its influence, light to moderate rain and thunderstorm will occur in the state from tonight to March 19 and hailstorm is expected in lower and mid hill areas of the state, Director Meteorological department Manmohan Singh said.

The minimum temperatures dropped marginally and Keylong was coldest in the region with a low of 7.5 degrees while Manali and Kalpa recorded minimum temperature at minus 0.8 degree, and minus 0.4 degree.

Precipitation occurred at isolated places and Dalhousie in Chamba received 6 mm of rains.

The minimum temperatures fluctuated marginally and Una, which was hottest in the region recorded a high of 28.6 degrees.
