Shootout at Bengaluru jewellery shop, two injured as robbers open fire

According to authorities, three bullets were fired. During the event, two shop employees, including the owner and a staff member, were hurt and hospitalised.

The police have arrived at the scene and are working to arrest the suspect.

At least two people were injured after four unidentified men opened fire at a jewellery shop in northern Bengaluru’s Kodigehalli on March 14 at around 11 am, police said.

Four men tried to rob a jewellery store. When the owner refused to give money, the intruders opened fire. According to authorities, three bullets were fired. During the event, two shop employees, including the owner and a staff member, were hurt and hospitalised.

Bengaluru police commissioner, B Dayanand said, “It has happened in Kodigehalli police station limits. It is a very interior area, a small jewellery shop. Some 4 persons has come and tried to rob, the shop owner and the employees resisted. But about 2,3 rounds have been fired. Two persons have been injured and has been taken to hospital. We have reached the spot and all the efforts starts to secure the accused.”

He also stated that the event occurred in a small jewellery shop in the interior. The police and forensic experts are combing through the area and collecting samples.

The injured have been rushed to a hospital.
