Modi's wax statue unveiled at Madame Tussauds museum in London

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statue has been officially unveiled at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.

Modi was shown the statue in the national capital before the unveiling as he was unable to attend the inauguration.

Modi was involved in the creation of his figure and gave Madame Tussauds' artists a sitting in New Delhi earlier in 2016.

Praising the hard work of the artists, Modi had said, "What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do. What Lord Brahma does normally is what the artists there are doing."

The figure was dressed in his signature kurta in cream with jacket and featured in a traditional pose making a namaste gesture.

Other global leaders whose wax statues are at Madame Tussauds are US President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, South Africal anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela and many more.

Each figure took a team of artists four months and cost around Hongkong $1.8 million to create.
