Vadra slams exemptions granted to VIPs in rationing scheme

Robert Vadra - the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi – on Saturday criticised the exemptions granted to VIPs vehicles by Delhi government in its 'even-odd scheme' to contain pollution in the national capital.

In his Facebook post Vadra slammed the Kejriwal government and wrote, "Odd and Even ways!! Creating parallel lists of exemption, is complete hypocrisy. If a law is implemented in the interest of the people, we all must adhere, and not be VIPs."

The Delhi government has come out with a scheme of allowing vehicles of even and odd numbers alternatively on Delhi roads in its bid to control pollution in the national capital, but has come out exemptions for VIPs.

From January 1, 2016, the odd and even car number formula will be applied in Delhi on a trial basis for 15 days with an aim to curb pollution, but has come out exemptions for VIPs. The government has proposed a fine of Rs 2,000 for any violation.
