This is the second tragic state of events in the month where children have died in a government hospital due to the sorry state of public healthcare.
Three infants died in a government-run BR Ambedkar Hospital due to alleged drop in oxygen pressure on Sunday night. The hospital authorities, however, have denied the allegations.
According to a CNN-News 18 report, the hospital staff were reportedly drunk. Their impaired sense of judgment and alertness led to three children being cut off from oxygen supply for three hours.
The hospital has suspended an operator, who was found in inebriated state, reports the Indian Express.
This is the second such incident where children have died in a government hospital due to the sorry state of public healthcare.Earlier this month, at least 60 children died due to a cut in the oxygen supply at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Gorakhpur.
